Anxiety is an emotion which is characterized by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil and includes feelings of dread over anticipated events. Anxiety is different from fear in that fear is defined as the emotional response to a real threat, whereas anxiety is the anticipation of a future threat

If you knew that awareness of emotions in this simple way, would you let them dominate your life. Or would you accept there feeling (pain) and allow yourself to feel them and move them up and down the scale as you learn to accept their presence and feeling.

Emotions do not go away they just change in frequency and impact. The more we fight against them the more intense the pain gets. Until you understand the lesson and when you do they can disappear as if magic.

Anxiety is a particularly challenging emotion as it often kicks of the Fight and Flight Response – which can be triggered to happen automatically – which then becomes hard to overcome. But once you know what triggers your anxiety you can review it and change or overcome it.

Recognising the trigger is a great place to start the recovery process. And learn to breathe deeply.
